NIOS Syllabus for April 2025 Exams: Class 10th & 12th Students Should Know

The NIOS Board has updated the syllabus for both secondary and senior secondary courses. 

In this article, I will explain the new syllabus pattern.

What is NIOS syllabus 2024-25

Whenever I meet with NIOS students to discuss their study, Do you know most of the time they say “ curriculum is vast” even though their delivery system of printed books is “quite slow“, and “How can I complete the entire lesson in a short time”?

Don’t worry, NIOS reduced its syllabus for the April 2025 examination, meaning that the curriculum is now divided into two parts. The TMA chapter is 40% of the syllabus, while the public exam is 60%.

That means if you are preparing for the public exam, you don’t need to learn the TMA chapter.

This change reduces the pressure on students by focusing only on the selected chapters.

New Changes in the NIOS New Syllabus 2025

The board has made new updates to its curriculum, dividing it into two parts. Here’s a quick overview of what’s new:

1. 40% syllabus for Tutor Marked Assignments.
2. 60% syllabus for public exams.
   

Benefits of a new curriculum

• No need to read entire textbooks.
• Reduced exam pressure because of a more MCQ-based question.
• Easier to score good marks.
• More objective questions compared to previous years.
• Help students to achieve higher scores, similar to other boards.
