About NIOS 10th admission

Documents required for NIOS class 10 admission:
Address proof: Aadhaar card/Voter id card, ration card, Passport, electricity bill or any other identity proof
Date of Birth proof-Aadhaar card / Passport Issued by government of India/Original Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate must be mentioned date of birth, issued by the government school.
From my personal experience, the Aadhaar card is the best for NIOS 10th admission because it is valid for address proof and date of birth.
Eligibility Criteria for NIOS 10th admission in 2024:
The NIOS class 10th admission is open to learners who are at least 14 years of age as of 31st July for the academic session.
There is no upper age limit.
Minimum Education qualification: If you don’t have any school certificate you are also eligible for NIOS secondary course, you need to upload a self certificate (Certified that I have studied enough to be able to pursue the Secondary level course. )
Medium: The NIOS offers the Secondary course in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese, Sanskrit and Kannada mediums.
Students of the following, Bengali, Konkani, Manipuri, Nepali, Kashmiri, and Sindhi, can take NIOS admission for class 10. Their question paper will be available in Hindi and English, but you can write your answer in any of the above languages.
Subjects available for NIOS secondary course
You can select a minimum of 5 subjects for certification and a maximum of 7 subjects including 1 language, but I will recommend you to select more than 5 because if you fail in one or more papers then the extra paper will help you to qualify.

How to apply for NIOS 10th admission online
If you want to apply for NIOS online admission for your course, it’s easy to find a center close to you. Just go to the official website or use the online portal at https://sdmis.nios.ac.in/ to locate nearby admission centers.
You can also ask the study centre near you or contact regional centers for help. Find a nearby NIOS admission center and start your learning journey towards achieving your academic goals.
To apply online registration, follow the below steps.
- Visit official website
- Click on Admission> select Stream 1 or 2 under the Academic menu.
- Select your State, Identity type, Course secondary
- Fill the primary details
- Enter your mobile no and email to receive the OTP for admission
- Enter your details like category, previous qualification, Religion, Medium, Type of disability (if any) etc. and click on Next
- Enter your address.
- Select the Study Centre as per your choice where you want to attend the practical exams
- Upload your documents
- Verify the registration form, if everything is ok.
- Click on the “payment” option to make an online payment.
- After online payment, you will get a NIOS reference number.
Once you receive a reference number, wait for a few days to get the enrollment number. If your admission status is not confirmed, you can contact the regional centre..
After a few days, you will be able to download NIOS ID cards from the student dashboard.
